Mission Statement

 

The FOUNDATION’S mission is the preservation and promotion of Greek (Hellenic) heritage and culture in the United States by engaging in and/or providing monetary funding to other charitable organizations engaged in, the following categories of activities:

 

(a) Programs which serve to advance the educational, social, civic and recreational achievements of persons of Greek heritage (irrespective of race, color, gender or creed).

 

(b) Programs which provide scholarship funds to students of Greek heritage, for the support of higher education studies at recognized colleges and universities within the United States.

 

(c)  Providing monetary aid to recognized colleges and universities located in the United States for the support of programs, research and studies in Greek culture, language, history, religion, and all areas incident thereto.

 

(d)  Programs which promote the cooperation and free intercourse between Greek and American teachers, scholars and students by sponsoring workshops, research and lectures having that end in view.

  

(e) Programs and exhibitions which promote the cooperation and free intercourse between Greek and American cultural institutions, so as to provide the opportunity for Greek-American cultural exchanges in the areas of music, dance, film, theater, fashion, literature, poetry, sculpture, painting and areas incident thereto.

  

(f) Programs which promote understanding and harmony among the many ethnic groups in the United States of America by providing and supporting a broad range of cultural and educational forums and activities which feature Greek culture, religion, history and civilization, and their contributions to American society.

  

(g) All lawful activities which may be useful in accomplishing the foregoing purposes.
